"Losing It" by Cora Carmack

Genre: New Adult Romance
Publication: October 15, 2012
Format: Kindle
Cover Rating: 5/5 Stars
Goodreads Link: Losing It

From Goodreads: Virginity.

Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible-- a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if if that weren't embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She'd left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.

My Thoughts: Can we first take a moment to just stare at the gorgeous guy on the cover?

Sigh.

Ok. Sorry about that. Anyway, I LOVED this book! Cora Carmack is beyond talented with her witty dialogues and awesome characters. I loved Bliss and Garrick so much. They were so real and not cheesy (which, let's face it, is hard to find in romance books). I just fell in love with this story from the start. I found myself laughing out loud and getting those tingly feelings in my fingers and toes that accompany me when I get suckered into a good story. I didn't even come up for air until I finished it.

If you're like me and find yourself loving this "New Adult" genre, then this is one story you do NOT want to miss out on!

"Deity" by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Series: The Covenant #3
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Publication: October 31, 2012
Format: Kindle
Cover Rating: 4/5 Stars
Goodreads Link: Deity

From Goodreads: "History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

My Thoughts: SERIOUSLY Mrs. Armentrout?! HOW do you expect us fans to make it until April?! I'm dying over here!

Deity was by far the BEST JLA book out there, and that's saying something because we all know she's freaking epic. I don't even know what to say about this book, my brain is still in shock over all of its awesomeness. How do I go on? How can I even think about reading another book right now?! Yeah, it was that good. Luckily for us, Elixir (Covenant 3.5) is FREE and already out.

Ok, breathing now.

In Deity things get amped up pretty quickly. Everyone's relationships are moving fast and we're finding out who we can trust and who we can't. This book was seriously non stop, heart pounding action and plot twists with each page. I can't tell you how badly I wanted to call in sick for work just so I didn't have to stop to reading it. Part of what made this book so awesome is that we get a lot of questions answered, only to have new ones pop up. It was like a roller coaster ride that you didn't want to be over.

So, what are you waiting for?! Go read it!

"Partials" by Dan Wells

Genre: YA Dystopia
Publication: February 28, 2012 by HarperCollins
Format: Kindle
Cover Rating: 5/5 Stars
Goodreads Link: Partials

From Goodreads: The human race is all but extinct after a war with Partials--engineered organic beings identical to humans--has decimated the population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by RM, a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island while the Partials have mysteriously retreated. The threat of the Partials is still imminent, but, worse, no baby has been born immune to RM in more than a decade. Our time is running out.

Kira, a sixteen-year-old medic-in-training, is on the front lines of this battle, seeing RM ravage the community while mandatory pregnancy laws have pushed what's left of humanity to the brink of civil war, and she's not content to stand by and watch. But as she makes a desperate decision to save the last of her race, she will find that the survival of humans and Partials alike rests in her attempts to uncover the connections between them--connections that humanity has forgotten, or perhaps never even knew were there.

My Thoughts: W-O-W! Just WOW. I knew when I first heard about Partials that I was going to love it, I just had no idea how much! As a huge geek for all things Terminator/ John Connor, I was so excited to hear about this book! However, after reading Partials, I have to say that it stands on it's own. While the story does have similar attributes to the Terminator saga, it is completely unique and original in its plot. This story is not just about a war with machines, it's about how far we could allow a corrupt government to control our rights.

As far as the characters go... well, they were freaking awesome. I fell in love with Kira's badass-ness immediately, along with Samm's quite strength and compassion, and of course Marcus's sense of humor. Oh, how I LOVED Marcus and his humor! In a world filled with tension, Marcus knew exactly what to say to diffuse a situation. Well, usually. Unless he was trying to fix things with Kira and then he tended to be a guy about it.

Dan Wells just spins out an amazing post apocalyptic story that will have you reading well past midnight. You do NOT want to miss out on this epic adventure! So, go to amazon and buy it for $2.99 for your Kindle! It is well worth that and more!
